Why Buenos Aires?

At the end of my Patagonia trip I headed over to Buenos Aires for 2.5 days to explore the city. I had an absolute blast. Apparently something like 70% of the population here are from Italian origins so it has a very European feel throughout the city from architecture to the active gesturing and energy they have when they speak Spanish ;) They also use a form of Spanish that contains a tense used in Spain and nowhere else in Latin America, vosotros.

Upon arrival dropped my bags at my hotel and went directly to a 5 hour bike tour of the city that I had booked before coming on Airbnb experiences. This gave me the opportunity to get a lay of the land, talk to the local tour guides and meet some other folks who were also visiting Buenos Aires! I learned so much about the culture, currency, etc. It was amazing and I definitely will do this type of adventure when I visit other cities in the future. Afterwards we all went to dinner and had a great time talking about our adventures, plans for life and dreams.

On the second day I walked around the city and took an Uber to a few spots. I wanted to see the grave of Eva Perón, an icon in Argentina for being a bad ass female liberator. From there I went around the city some more and met up with a friend I had met online who lived in Argentina and was in the area. I hung out with him and his wife for a bit then walked around the city some more at night. It's a very vibrant city full of life. It's a little too crazy of a city for me to see myself wanting to live here ever, but it was really amazing to finally get to see this place in action!
