Why Tulum?

Tulum holds a special place in my heart. The entire Riviera Maya is truly my happy place. I'm enamored with Mesoamerican culture and, in particular, the Mayan people. Although this trip was a family trip I wanted to add some pictures here as we went on this trip in part to visit a home that we bought here in Tulum. It had just finished being built over 3 years, originally was supposed to be 1 year ;) So we went to experience it for the first time and enjoy the area again as a family.

This was my 5th time to Tulum and it's changed a lot, for me it's become even more magical as they don't allow buildings over 4 stories here so the big hotel chains won't come here. Everything is smaller, boutique places and all inspired by tropical, boho chic! It's truly unlike any other place in the world with incredible underground fresh water swimming holes, Cenotes, adventure parks like Xcaret, the beach, kiteboarding, amazing food, music and design everywhere you look. I'm so happy that we have a small piece of paradise here that we can go back and visit when we want.

We also spent a couple days in Bacalar to enjoy the Laguna of 7 colors and Los Rapidos float. Truly an incredible place to see. It was all of our first time there and I could see going back in the future.
